*In response to the Russian aggression in Ukraine and the resulting significant financial distress faced by Ukrainian legal professionals seeking to further their legal education, Chicago-Kent College of Law, together with the Center of American Law in Ukraine, is offering a special and substantial (80%) reduction to tuition for Chicago-Kent's LL.M. program for students who successfully complete the SAL Ukraine program. DETAILS:

  • Studying takes place on Saturday and Sunday (once or twice a month and lasts 4-8 hours a day, depending on the course)
  • All courses will be taught by practicing lawyers and professors at Chicago-Kent College of Law online or in one of the Eastern European countries
  • Two or three weeks before the lectures, all students will receive course materials from the lecturers (excerpts from books, articles, court decisions, problem plots, etc.), which they have to process before each of the courses
  • All courses are about the American legal system and international business law
  • Lectures are held in the American style (Socratic method) with the active involvement of students
  • After classes, students receive assignments they must complete within 2-3 weeks and send them to the professor for review
Details of 2022-2023 academic year

WHO CAN APPLY?

  • law students (3rd or 4th year of study), bachelors and masters of law, practicing lawyers regardless of age
  • with knowledge of English at the Intermediate level and above

DURATION:

  • Pre-LL.M. online or in one of the countries of Eastern Europe - 10 weekends (1 or 2 times a month) from September to May 2022 - 2023
  • LL.M in Chicago, USA - 6 months or 1 year

Tuition Fee

  • Pre-LL.M. – $3 000
  • LL.M у Chicago-Kent College of Law (Chicago, USA) - $5000 (5 month program) or $8625 (9 month program) for SAL Ukraine graduates.

*Pre-LL.M tuition fees can be divided into two parts.

** The total cost of study at the Chicago-Kent College of Law (Chicago, USA) is $43 860, but for SAL Ukraine (Pre-LL.M) graduates - the tuition fee is five times lower - $8625.

All candidates must submit:
  • CV (in English)
  • Cover Letter (one page)
  • Copy of passport or ID
  • A copy of the diploma or an excerpt from the university

Deadline – August 15, 2022.

Admission to the program is decided by the Chicago-Kent College of Law of the Illinois Institute of Technology. All candidates will receive a decision on enrollment within two weeks from the date of documents submission.

The Center of American Law in Ukraine is a non-governmental organization whose main goal is to encourage Ukrainian legal practitioners to meet the challenges of effective professional integration into the globalized legal marketplace and provide them with educational opportunities. Since 2011 the Center of American Law in Ukraine has been the official partner and representative of Chicago-Kent College of Law of the Illinois Institute of Technology (Chicago, USA) in Ukraine. Together with Chicago-Kent College of Law, The Center of American Law in Ukraine creates opportunities for legal professionals to obtain an LL.M degree in the United States of America.

One of the main projects of the Center for American Law in Ukraine is the School of American Law (SAL Ukraine). From 2011 to 2021, more than 210 students graduated from SAL in Ukraine. About 80 enrolled in the LL.M program at the Chicago-Kent College of Law (IIT). Among the graduates are founders, partners, senior lawyers from the TOP-50 law firms in Ukraine, heads of legal departments of international companies, and judges who work in law and international consulting firms, as well as in the public sector in the United States, Europe, and Ukraine.
